The fourth annual NYU Global Engagement Symposium brought together students from across New York University to showcase their internationally focused achievements, such as community service engagement, internships, work, independent research projects, and collaborations with local organizations. The Symposium showcased the many ways students embrace their international experience and utilize the resources of a dynamic global network to achieve goals in independent research and personal development.
Out of eleven presentations, including student presentations; a student panel on diversity, equity, and inclusion in action; and a global filmmaking panel, there were seven Liberal Studies student presenters. With over half of the presenters coming from Liberal Studies, students explored a wide range of topics, such as the power of Latin American art and artistic movements to shape political, institutional and societal change, how culture traverses country borders in Vietnam, the role martyrs play in Palestinian society and public imagery, and the progress, challenges, and innovations in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion at NYU's global locations.
