Areas of Interest: Eethnobotany; phytochemistry; teaching of evolution
Course(s) Taught: Life Science
I teach science to non-majors which presents a different set of challenges than teaching science majors. My goal is not to produce scientists but rather students who can appreciate the kinds of questions science can ask and how scientists can answer them. Learning in my classroom is a student-centered active process. Students work together to make meaning of biology concepts and how they are relevant to their lives outside the classroom.
