The Liberal Studies Student Council (LSSC) directly represents the interests of Liberal Studies Core and Global Liberal Studies (GLS) students at NYU and within Liberal Studies. This includes students who may be studying away. The LSSC also programs events and social gatherings for Liberal Studies students.
Student Council
The LSSC is comprised of elected board members, three committee chairs, and four class representatives. Elections are conducted in two cycles, with fall semester being reserved for class representatives and committee chair positions, and spring semester for executive board positions. For more information regarding the electoral process, please read the LSSC Constitution.
The LSSC also hosts at least three General Assemblies per semester, at which any student of Liberal Studies can raise concerns directly to the council and be involved in the planning and implementation of both the policy and programming of the LSSC.
At General Assembly, all students also have the opportunity to serve and assist with LSSC initiatives by joining one of three committees: DEI, Public Relations, and Student Affairs.
