Professor Genia Naro-Maciel’s Globalism and Environmental Conservation class braved the snowstorm last week to meet artist Anne de Carbuccia at her New York exhibition, ‘One Planet One Future,’ an ongoing project to document human-caused threats to the environment. The visit was a highlight of this course, in which students contemplate the idea of globalism and the process of globalization, with respect to environmental conservation, through the lens of major academic disciplines.
After hearing the stories behind gorgeously haunting fine-art photographs from Mount Everest to Antarctica, New York's snowstorm felt much less daunting. Many in the class left feeling recharged and inspired to combat the current environmental crisis in our own individual ways.
