Last week, Dean Julie Mostov welcomed families of Liberal Studies students moving to Washington Square for the first time at the Family Drop-In. Families had the chance to take a break from move-in activities to relax, enjoy refreshments and views of Washington Square Park, and meet other families of Liberal Studies students!
Over 350 family members had the chance to chat with LS deans, advisors, faculty, administrators, and student leaders: Mia Foucek (GLS '20), Yasmin Gulec (GLS '20), Ashleigh Hale (GLS '22), Kohtaro Kosugiyama (GLS '20, GSAS '21), Jarrett Lash (GLS '22), and Adriana Nicolaievsky (LS Core '19, Stern '21). Arts and Science Dean Antonio Merlo also joined.
In addition to our GLS 10th anniversary celebrations, Liberal Studies looks forward to again welcoming the families of new first-year and transfer students, as well as families of sophomores returning from First Year Away (FYA) sites, at NYU Parents Day. The day includes the Liberal Studies academic program, where families will learn more about the LS global great works curriculum and the outcomes of an LS education. They will also have the unique opportunity to meet academic advisors and experience firsthand the LS education, taught by one of our distinguished faculty members, and enjoy other activities for NYU parents.
