At the 116th annual American Anthropological Association conference in Washington, DC, Robin Nagle gave a paper titled "The Epistemological Hazards of Curbside Recycling in the Anthropocene." Her talk, part of a panel called "Abandoning the Anthropocene: Materialities, Temporalities, and Politics of a Dangerous Divide," explored both the rhetoric and consequences of incrementalism and "unpolitics" in the context of municipal recycling.
Nagle is the author of Picking Up: On the Streets and Behind the Trucks with the Sanitation Workers of New York City.
