FACULTY NEWS | March 16, 2021

Professor Mahnaz Yousefzadeh publishes study of Napoletano's Persian Hunt (1620)

Out of the classroom and into hallowed virtual gallery walls, Professor Mahnaz Yousefzadeh's study of Napoletano's Persian Hunt (1620), out now, began as a curricular development project when she brought NYU Florence students to the backrooms of the Uffizi Galleries for a behind-the-scenes look at culture production. The study appears in On Being Present, Vol. II: Recovering Blackness in the Uffizi Galleries, an exhibition dedicated to creating new texts that reflect upon the Black African figures in the collections of the Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace.
