FACULTY NEWS | March 19, 2018
Karen Karbiener was recognized by NYU for excellence in teaching, receiving Honorable Mention in the 2017-2018 Distinguished Teaching Awards. The prestigious, university-wide awards recognize a select few faculty members each year who have demonstrated excellence as educators over a sustained period of time.
Karen Karbiener, who teaches Cultural Foundations, makes New York City’s rich cultural resources an integral part of the learning experience for students. Her classes have toured the former NYU campus at University Heights with a local historian, attended an authentic Japanese tea ceremony, experienced tintype photography at the Penumbra Foundation, and more.
Congratulations to Professor Karbiener on this distinguished honor.
