Heidi White and Michael Shenefelt presented a paper titled “Why Does Formal Logic Start with the Classical Greeks,” at the 24th World Congress of Philosophy (WCP), hosted by Peking University, Beijing, China in August. The WCP is organized every five years by the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP), and was first held in Paris in 1900. Their paper defended an outlook explained earlier in their book If A, Then B: How the World Discovered Logic (Columbia University Press, 2013).
