Welcome LS families!

We recognize the important role that parents and families play in supporting students throughout their NYU experience: in those months leading up to acceptance to NYU and in all of their decisions and challenges, discoveries and achievements as they make their way to graduation and beyond.

Each year, NYU invites the families of new first-year and transfer students, as well as families of sophomores returning from FYA sites, to Alumni and Parents Weekend. Events include an academic program, a number of workshops and Open Houses, and a reception hosted by the NYU Parents Council and President Andrew Hamilton. Your day begins with an academic program where you will learn more about the LS Core and GLS curricula, and the outcomes of an interdisciplinary, global and engaged education.

Our students thrive when their parents and family members are informed and engaged. The Liberal Studies Parent Circle is a select group of families and parents who are committed to enhancing and supporting the Liberal Studies mission at NYU. Through philanthropy and leadership, the Liberal Studies Parent Circle contributes to academic excellence and student success and ensures that all Liberal Studies students share in the outstanding academic and co-curricular opportunities that foster global leadership.

Parents Circles members take part in informative sessions with Liberal Studies and NYU leadership, share experiences and ideas about enriching student life, follow student research, learn from our expert faculty, and enjoy select access to special events.
