I was originally in the LS Core, but after taking Social Foundations I and Cultural Foundations I, I was immediately drawn to GLS! The tight-knit community, subject matter in humanities, and incredible staff ultimately led me to my decision to directly transfer into GLS in my second semester of freshman year. I’m beyond grateful to have been exposed to the specific curriculum of GLS, as it led me to find my own passions and has opened the door to many exciting experiences—one of the most remarkable being studying abroad for a full academic year as a junior.
GLS has undoubtedly shaped me into who I am today. With direct and indirect sources of inspiration, GLS was my advocate for growth throughout my four years at NYU. Not only did I amass invaluable knowledge through traditional higher education in a classroom, GLS provided a space where learning happens outside of the classroom as well. I have learned so much through the opportunities made possible by GLS, a few being: serving as Senior Class Representative, speaking at the virtual GLS graduation of 2021, holding internship positions at amazing companies in both the US and Italy, and most importantly, being given the most wonderful support system made up of mentors, professors, friends, and classmates!
When applying to law school I hope to pursue the passions that GLS has introduced me to, to the fullest. Without the process of writing my thesis, I don’t think I would have ever discovered my interest in law! GLS has helped me grow intellectually, professionally, and personally and for that, I will always be grateful.
