Having grown up in a small suburb of Atlanta, I knew that I wanted a change of scenery for college. I thought New York would be the perfect city for me because I have such a vast range of interests, and New York seemed like a place that would grant me the opportunity to explore them all. Given the fact that I am very interested in all kinds of art and wanted to pursue that, but at the same time wanted to major in something more traditional, I thought NYU was perfectly suitable for me. While researching majors during the application process, I was completely overwhelmed by the endless number of options—I didn’t think I’d ever be able to decide. When I discovered LS, I knew I’d found my solution: a program that gave me the flexibility to explore multiple interests while getting my core courses completed in the very beginning of my academic career. Furthermore, I was drawn to the small classes and sense of community it seemed to foster; it was exactly what I needed to adjust to such a large city and school.
